1  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / DigDug Upright on: March 10, 2016, 08:04:34 pm
So my DigDug has a bunch of garbage on the screen and has a "ROM 2" notice on it.  I have checked voltages at the board.  I reseated the ROMS, replaced the sockets, checked the power supply and reflowed the sodder on the board.  No change whatsoever.  There is also a noticeably loud hum when I turn on the game that wasn't there before too.  The fuzes are all tested and good.  I'm completely stuck.  Could it be a bad fuze block, am I missing something on the power supply which is causing the hum?  I've even gotten a couple of "junk" boards and pulled the ROMs from it and get no change.  Suggestions?

My Dig Dug shows a bunch of garbage on the screen and says Rom 2.  It will not switch out of test mode.  I've replaced the Rom 2 chip and reseated it several times.  I've also reflowed the solder to the socket and checked the traces with my multi-meter.  I then checked my voltages at the power supply, the pcb and the edge connector and all are fine.  At this point I am completely lost.  Does anyone have any ideas I may have overlooked or know of someone I can send my board to to have it fixed?

I saw a thread about making a calendar with a classic arcade theme.  What a great idea!!!  I think a classic pinball calendar would be really cool too.  Also thought an theme of individuals arcade collections would be a interesting idea.  What games would everyone like to see featured.  Would it be popular enough to seriously pursue?

A classic arcade games calendar is a FANTASTIC idea.  I also liked the John's Arcade coasters John has in the basement.

Another tool worth mentioning from Johns videos is the Molex HTR2445A ratcheting crimping tool.  Reference Pacman restore part 4 video.

Hello.  I've been collecting for about 1 year now and am just getting into the restoration part of the hobby.  Always looking for new information or suggestions from fellow collector's and of course would like to find other collector's in and around Michigan.

Hello Jones711.  I'm new to the forum and was looking for anyone from Michigan and came across you.  I see you're from Mt. Pleasant.  I live in Midland and grew up in MP.  Have you found anyone else either on this forum or in general that is in the hobby from around our area?  I'm still relatively new to the arcade collecting hobby.
