I have been all around those forums and never been offered a DK wire harness for under 160 dollars. Good luck! They only seem interested in trying to rip off newcomers by pricing every old part like it's more valuable than a gold brick.

I find that odd how they repainted the sides, made a lot of changes, then didn't repaint the metal trim piece front and center or replace the marquee light.

Anyway depending your area, yeah, 200-250 max. That's more than fair. If he doesn't sell it for that, then he doesn't want to really sell it.

You can spruce up that monitor along with some detail work and make that cab look very presentable. It won't be mint, but it could be real nice.

I don't know if it's considered good or not since I have no frame of reference, this is the only one I ever bought, but it worked fine for me and the ratings at least suggest it is good:

I had a buddy let me borrow his working pcb and still the same problem. Any suggestions?

So then it's not the board, it's the edge connector. Cut it off and replace it, post haste!

Firstly, get rid of the wife, move arcade machines into the house, problem solved.

If the sound of a whip in the far off distance won't leave you, then do what Ian said and get a pole barn.

I'm going to agree with John here and say I have also had good luck with the soldapullt, with the following qualification.

For through hole lead based soldering those things work just fine. You get into the more modern stuff with their lead free solder and surface mount components and de-soldering gets a bit more fiddly with that tool.
9  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Pinball Discussions / Re: F14 Tomcat, good deal? on: March 05, 2015, 01:55:33 am
Is $2,200 for a F14 Tomcat a good ? I have been told this is a hard table and plays real fast. But the 3 Red, White and Blue strobes on the top seem really fun to have.

IMO - that's too much. Not a super desirable game. It's an iconic game but I don't think it's high on a lot of people's want lists. I'd feel better around $1,500 or less.

What if it was restored by Todd Tuckey and Pals? heh heh

A lot of those light gun games get the brightness pot cranked, otherwise the light guns don't work too good. That's probably why it was up so high...
11  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / Golden Tee 2k - What do? on: January 22, 2015, 01:26:09 pm
I am supposed to be getting an original Golden Tee 2k pretty soon, probably this week or next. Free to me. The monitor needs rebuilt and the trackball replaced. Other than that, it works and still has the original dollar bill acceptor. It has not been upgraded.

My big question is what should I do with it?

Should I use it as trade bait?

How much would it be worth if I replaced the trackball and fixed the monitor? Are there any upgrades for it that would enhance its potential value?

Should I keep it and make it into a mame cab since I have virtually no space for an arcade?

I'm open to suggestions and opinions.

I think hobbyroms.com has a pretty good reputation. I have no idea what their lead time would be, though.

If you found a DK in there I'd be interested in any of the following:

complete wire harness
DK serial number plate
wood coin box
original coin mechs
the metal bracket that holds the pcb to the cabinet wall
marquee/bezel

PM/email me I'd love to see pics on condition and talk price
