So I'm curious does any one know why some red tents have them and some don't? i know mine does not have one.

Hey guy I'm selling my extra Daughter card it has the Roms but no PPU or CPU. Im looking for $45 shipped.

assuming you have checked the volume settings on the board. I would re check all the connections and the wire then if that's all good I would test the speaker on something else a  small stereo or something. If it works fine then you have a problem with your PCB and if i had to guess it would be most likely the caps

That's the number I found on the frame I know its a multi res monitor and I believe it is of Japaneses origins because the silk screen on the main board is in Japaneses. On the plus side all the caps look good and most are nichicon  so no cheep Chinese caps.

So picked up a Neo-Geo 4 slot and it is's original monitor has been replaced It now has a Hitachi GMK-25FS2 any one know any thing about this monitor I need to hook it up and the connector on the cabs harness dos not match the monitor. the connector on the monitor is six wires and the cabs harness is five any suggestions?

After much testing I believe that this card was killed by ESD assuming it worked when shipped. I have tried it in both of my Vs cabs to rule out power supply problems. I have loaded it with RBI Baseball & TKO Boxing both of which work fine on there own daughter cards.  Moral of the story don't ship PCBs in a single wrap of clear bubble wrap in a box filled with newspaper, also don't buy from wickedbass on KLOV because he is slow to ship and does no properly pack items.

Well 4 stack boards are not as common as 2 stack the rest of the stuff is common for the most part.
I dont really think there is to much that is prone to failure. They have normal problems that any thirty year old electronics do.  Recapping the monitor Is never a bad idea. You can check voltage coming from the power supply but I have never had a problem with one. Only trouble I have had with my nintendo cabs are with the coin mecs the ones in my DKJr took a wile to get the switches working and the mount for one set in my red tent came unwelded.

Real DK board sets are going to be a 4 board stack or a 2 board stack. The Monitor will most likely be a Sanyo 20EZ there will be a 100v transformer in the bottom of the cab to supply power for the monitor and marque light.

Ok so after some digging I think I have answered this my self the IC at 5C is a Z80A and the IC at 5B is a Z80A DMA controller and the CPU board EPROMs seem to all 2764's and the Video board EPROMs are 2732's. Now my question is Does anyone know If there is any thing special about these Z80A's or will ones like these work?

Ok so I traded a guy in my town a working SMB for a Working Hogans Ally and 4 nonworking(untested) boards that he got in a large lot that came up for sale in here in Nashville last week.  So the boards are DKJr, DK3, Popeye, and Mario Bros.  They are all missing there EPROMs and most of the socketed chips but other wise look clean no on the surface problems.  So my first goal is getting the DK3 working I know it needs 2 RP2A03 CPUs like the ones on the Vs boards and I have a few of those so no problem there (But if any one has to many of them I would be glad to ease you burden just PM me ) What i need is to know what type of EPROMs this board uses  and what the chips at 6 B&C on the CPU board are so i can replace them.  I am also needing the same info on the other boards EPROMs and any other socketed ICs.

Those Red Tents are so bad ass! I remember playing those as a kid. I haven't seen one in years. Seeing John's video of his brought a tear to my eye.

Super Mario Bros. is still a fantastic game. I was hooked on that game and Popeye for a long time.

The whole resin I bought a Red Tent was because I remember One of them in my local Pizza Hut. It had Super Mario Bros. on one side and Excitebike on the other. I thought for the longest time once I got my Red Tent that that game combo would live in there and I was half right. SMB stays in it but it shares a board with Dr. Mario(Thanks GameBoy for my addiction to this game).  This same Pizza Hut had a Cocktail Ms. Pac Man and an upright 1942. I want to pick up a Cocktail Ms. Pac but for some resin in my area every one thinks they are made of gold or converts them to 60 in 1. 

But Now to answer the question I played around inside my Unisystem cab this morning trying to get Vs Sky Kid working so does that count. I would rather be playing it but I think this game hates me.

It was sold to me by a klov & NEACF member as a working daughter card. But I really don't have much faith in the seller it took him 2 weeks to ship it although during that time he told me it was shipped. It also was really badly packed wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap with a few pieces of paper in the box. What i do know is the Vs main board I'm using is good, the dips and chips are set correctly and the CPU is good. I guess the next step is to move the roms over to my RBI card and check them.  Just on the surface the board looks brand new it even has the original stickers.

Ok so i picked up Sky Kid the other day and am having a hard time getting it to work any suggestions on how get this thing seated and working.
