1  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Atari Battlezone Help on: April 04, 2021, 07:07:44 pm
hey everyone extremely new to the hobby here and am picking up my very first cabinet for 25 bucks thursday april 8th 2021 as you can probably tell from the title of the post it is a atari battlezone i dont have a picture right now but it appears to be in pretty good condition so im fairly confident i can get it to work what im wondering is what should i look for in terms of bringing it back to life? the seller thinks its the power supply and possibly the monitor? how easy is it to switch out the power supply also thinking i should maybe check the fuses i do not have a multimeter or any sort of tools is any of that required before i go poking around all willy nilly? any help is appreciated as i am a huge noob and dont wanna kill myself over something silly
2  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Re: Backwards Frogger on: June 27, 2017, 08:41:36 pm
well i personally have never fixed a arcade game little lone owned one or anything i am actually just looking at getting into this hobby of collecting and fixing i am only 16 years old tho but i think it would be a good learning lesson and a rewarding hobby ANYWAYS the most advice i can offer being a complete and total noob to the topic would be try replaceing all the roms/ram with fresh stuff if this doesnt solve the problem troubleshoot the monitor have you tried adjusting any pots on the monitor to see if this resolves anything? this sounds like a very weird issue indeed and since i am a complete and total noob to the hobby i have no clue this is the best advice i can give at this point but u could try asking around on klov or somthing if none of this fixes it if you have watched johns pacman cabaret restore videos i can remember/recall when he first got the game up and running in a playable state that he had ms pacman and pacman sprites glitched together due to overlapping roms or somthing so this may be a place to start? have you tried downloading a fresh set of frogger roms from a reliable source and burning them to the eprom things and putting them onto the pcb  and loading it up? if you plan to go this route i recommend this site for any and every rom or emulator needs https://www.emuparadise.me/M.A.M.E._-_Multiple_Arcade_Machine_Emulator_ROMs/Frogger/12989 i use this site all the time for mame roms to just play some games in mame for fun that link there is a link to a frogger rom as your issue is with a frogger i apologize if this doesnt resolve or fix anything

4  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Multi Williams Craigslist Ad on: June 27, 2017, 08:29:33 pm
Hello I Have Found A Multi Williams Type Cabinet Thingy (not really sure what it is its got joust defender and robotron or somthing) on craigslist for 200 bucks the monitor needs to be replaced apparently tho as stupid as it is the same guys selling a deerhunter game on the same ad with no monitor whatsoever in it for 50$ now in my head im thinking wtf? this is silly as i mean yea it makes sense to sell a game with a monitor for 200 but it doesnt list anything about if the pcbs are working marquee lights come on etc says nothing like that all it says is robotron joust defender cabinet 200$ needs new monitor but anyways in my head im thinking whats the difference? either way its just like the deerhunter cause i mean deerhunter no monitor 50 bucks and a multi williams like cabinet 200 with monitor but monitor MAY or MAY NOT be working thats just kind of steep contacted the guy and asked him what the was with this situation via email and am just awaiting a reply now but if i were to go full 200 on it if the games completely shot minus the pcb is this a good ? or would i be down in the water having to fix all these little things?

yea i think its either the tv tube or the monitor as the ad says that sounds relatively easy to fix tho and that may or may not even be the issue idk yet
6  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Centipede Arcade Cab Plays Blind on: June 26, 2017, 04:31:02 pm
Title Says It All I Have Found A Ad On Craigslist For A All Original Dedicated Upright Centipede Arcade Cabinet The Guy Has It Priced At $1200 but he is willing to go anywhere from 3-7 hundred everything works and u can play but the monitor doesnt come on as if the monitors not connected to the pcb or somthings loose etc it sounds like a relatively easy fix and im sure i could fix it even tho i am only 16 years old but i mean i am really wanting to get into this hobby and centipede is a game i loved A TON as a kid on the 2600 so any help as to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated! PS: i dont plan to fix it at the sellers house as a tip from john himself is dont ever do that as if you get it working the seller may ask for more cash always fix it off location from the seller

any help in terms of fixing this would be greatly appreciated!

and yes the monitor is the original monitor that comes in centipedes from the factory i believe the monitors the same found in most bally/midway games such as pac-man ms pac-man and galaga if im not mistaken i believe its a electrohome G07? again i know nothing about arcade machines but i really do want to get into this hobby as i feel like it could be fun and rewarding any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated!
