1  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Re: Pole Position conversion on: June 14, 2017, 01:20:42 am
And just FYI, a PP is one of the worst ones to find in good running condition. Check that the battery didn't puke all over the board set.
I have a PP cabinet and parts from a PP2 and three other pp board sets and they have damage and are a biotch to keep running.
I did hear a PP replacement board is being worked on and will be available soon, with all the different PP versions on it, and it wont be a mame type unit, but fully accurate like the JRok williams boards are.
I plan on getting one, then retiring my working board to a static bag in vacuum packed glory for my kids. They can then marvel at it in 30 years..
2  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / Donkey Kong with Atari labels? on: June 13, 2017, 11:46:24 pm
Hi All,
I picked up a and DK Jr the other day, and on the back of the , in addition to the Nintendo labels are some Atari labels is this common?https://goo.gl/photos/f4fiUQLGxyZzYomC9

Perhaps it was a door from another cabinet, but it seems to fit perfectly, and not like a transplant?

I have someone coming over to look at the PP items and a road Blasters this weekend.
If he doesn't claim the items, i'll get a shipping cost to you.
No charge for the items just shipping as I just wanted them to go to someone who would use them.

Sorry for not updating this earlier, he purchased the RB and also took the PP items.

Hum, this would go well with the wall project I was thinking of doing in the new arcade room. do you have a bunch that are untested and probally not working that would go for a low cost?

Just saw the email me directly Smiley

I haven't seen any pacman or space invaders, but I got mine from here. And it glows and black light.

HI All,
Just checking in if any of you have any good recommendations on were to get game room carpet? Im looking for old school patterns with space invaders or pacman etc type graphics that reflect well in a black light\Neon setting.
I see lots of rugs like this:

But no real carpet place selling similar.

11  Tech and Marketplace / For Sale / Wanted / Re: Arcade auction in Westfield MA on June 8th on: June 08, 2016, 09:42:14 pm
I hope some of you got in on the deals they had. I wish I was closer, as it seems many things went for dirt cheap, and some didnt even get  bid on. I still cant believe no one bought the Site down Pole Position, the min bids were only 25.00...
If anyone is close to the area, I would go over to the auction pickup and see if they are just trashing the non-sold items, and see if you can grab them.

If you hit the link in the original post you can see how the prices were.
It sucks being in Cali...

There is  a guy on klov called joeycuda that makes them. I bought one for my Battlezone and it was nicely done.

You can replace just the picture tube saving the electronics:
http://arcademonitor.com/Arcade-Monitor-Parts/

Please before working on this watch Johns video on discharge the current monitor first before working on it. Changing the tube is pretty simple but you have to discharge it first even if its been off for awhile. IT can severely hurt or injury you, or kill you. But its easy to do it, just follow John here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfQbdvB8GSM

Good Luck!
-Greg

P.S. Adding if this is a Vector monitor (Tempest, Asteroids, Battle zone, Star wars, etc), then you need to add a resister or use a HV probe to discharge it slowly vs a quick discharge. If you dont know post the game name up here or just look at the writing on the monitor and Google it.

Hi All,
Picked up a Pole Position II game a few weeks ago in a group buy. It had been left outside (Covered but that dosent matter much with plywood)  for many years and the cabinet was completely falling apart.
I took out the monitor, steering wheel, plastic, pedals, coin door, wiring harness, and electronics and have it for sale if anyone needs any parts. I cant guarantee they work, but look to be in decent condition and could be restored easily on most things (The board I have no idea on as the chips have some rust etc and I think it would be just a parts board).
Not looking to get any real $$, just didn't want good parts to goto the dumpster.
Im in Nor Cal, by SF so if your local that would be best, but could ship if needed.
