Woah! That's wickedly awesome to see it come alive...great job!!!

I didn't know they had all those in sketchup....just messed around with it a few years ago.

Thanks Ian.
MK

More dimensions and materials.

There are a few dimensions that didn't make sense or were missing. I obviously have no idea what color things should or will be. And I got too tired to finish doing the bar.

Skeeballs are all ready down there...those were the biggest headache to move, then Hydro Thunder was a B*tch too.

I was thinking double doors on the media room, but I'd really like to listen to music/movies without disturbing others in the house.  I had the same setup at my old house.  Insulated the ceiling/walls and used a solid wood door.  Plus, the wall common to the other part of the basement was actually a dbl-wall staggered studs.  We insulated both sides...it was awesome.  Kept it really toasty in the winter.

Was thinking about building in a fish tank somewhere...just don't know where at.

I'm not sure. I am going to have fun with this later though. I love doing google sketchup.

What games would you like to own someday.

The bathroom has a door for the general area.  In addition, a door inside the bedroom/MPR...so they could use it privately too if need be.

The reason for the multipurpose room/bedroom being where it is...that "Egress Window" needs to be inside a bedroom per code (Fire Code) where I live.

The media room...was going for compete darkness/soundproofing...so you could rock out in there and not disturb the rest of the house.

We/I did think about just having it all open except for the bathroom and storage areas.....still could do that...hummmm.

Thanks for all the comments so far...looking forward to hearing more from others too.
MK

I'd say make the bathroom accessible from the general basement area.  Also, maybe switch the multi-purpose and workout rooms.  I'd want as large of an open space as possible, personally, so I probably wouldn't even have a wall between the workout/arcade/media rooms.

Thanks Ian....do you have any suggestions for moving rooms around or adding/deleting things?  Just trying to get as much perspective on a good layout/plan from folks.

Thanks,
MK

Well, leave your comments below.  This is a rough draft of my basement.  MK

Forgot to add: This is an in-grade basement, no walkout.  A couple of small windows and an Egress window per code where marked.
Front of house is the left side.  Hence, right side is the back of the house.

Sorry John -

Was half-asleep when I typed that...sorry I wasn't more specific...but yes, what you said is what I meant to type. =))

Okay, so one wire to one AC screw...and the other to the other AC screw on the power supply?

Thanks,
MK

Is this possible?

One line to AC and the other to FG?

39  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / Washing parts in Dishwasher? Is this for real? on: February 19, 2015, 09:32:32 am
Okay - I've seen people posting topics where they show photos of parts in the dishwasher being washed w/o soap.

Electronics, Boards, Lots of Monitor parts....

Is this for real?  I mean...you would have to use an air compressor to get all the water out and let them dry for days before using them right?

What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks,
MK

I modified my first post, but thought I'd better put it here too.

I ended up taking PIN 27 out of commision...it was grounding my control panel buttons/joysticks.  So, I moved it to the ground on the power supply instead of the jamma connector.

It all works well now...played for a few hours....no issues.

Thanks all!

I've got my eleven video games...so no problem there.

This PIN was free...so can't complain.

I'm pressing my luck and ordered a pinled from Germany today...hopefully it will show up in a few weeks.

Wish me luck.

42  Other Stuff / Off Topic / Re: What do you guys use for shipping? on: February 18, 2015, 08:29:52 am
Moogrum -

I take my stuff to a 3rd party mailer.  They can check prices from almost all carriers like UPS/FEDEX/USPS and different types of shipping methods.

Recently, UPS/FEDEX I believe have changed their dimensions and now basically its like $5 per inch of extra space vertically or something weird like that once you go beyond their threshold.  It just changed late last year...like 4-months ago.

The guy at my 3rd party mailing business showed me how to cut the sides of boxes down to save space/money.  My shipping costs went from $63 to $43...saved me $20 by redoing my box.  Sweet!!!

Prices do vary a lot...so it might be a learning process at the start for ya.

So Offset...

I have the 412 in a "Last Duel" Gottlieb cabinet now.  It has Player One/Two buttons.  Two Joysticks. Two Buttons each.

I read somewhere that the 412 likes button 3 plugged in and connected.

I tried disconnecting pin 27 and sending both grounds on pin 28 to the ground on the power supply.  No difference.

I'm not sure how this happened, but the picture is in the correct orientation now.  Just can't move the arrows or play anything.

Thanks Ian....the noise if fine when the door is closed on the back.  I just didn't want it to explode or something =)).

This Galaxian looks like no one has touched the inside since 1979.  Needs a good cleaning too.
