16  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Re: Mario Bros - No Power on: March 07, 2015, 09:31:24 pm
Hey Vertex and John,

Finally got a new HOT on this Sanyo.

Picture comes up, but scrambled....color looks good, coins up, sound works great.

I can't get the screen to unscramble and the monitor goes off after about 30secs of power.

So, I checked the B+ and I'm hitting 127vDC.....I know it suppose to be 108vDC.

Tried adjusting the B POT....and it goes up to 137vDC....but when I turn it the opposite way I can only bring it down to about 126vDC.

There was some white glue...but it flaked away.

Is the B-POT bad?  Can it be replaced?  Is there something else I can check?

Thanks,
MK

I put an order in with PINLED in Germany...I know...I read all the messages about him.  It was really my last resort.  We'll see if he delivers.

I tried to bid on a display on Ebay...the thing went from $200 and sold for $358.  Ugh!!!!

Its still very fun to play this pinball even though the scoreboard isn't working.  The kids love it, just wait till it keeps their score.

All broken pieces have been replaced and 95% of the playfield lights are working.  Cleaned it up and looks great.

Finally got around to checking the HOT on this monitor.  Got brave and discharged the monitor first....went smoothly.

The HOT is showing 0.000001 so I'm assuming its bad.

Will order and replace it.  I will let you guys know the outcome.

Thanks,
MK

Try replacing the fuse and see what happens.

Does the game play blind at all?

Yes, I probably need to clean up those wires....just wanted to get everything in working order first.

Thanks again.

I guess I'm asking for both....

The chassis and the connectors that work with each game.

Example...

Could you put a Wells Gardner Kxxxxxx in a Time Pilot, Galaxian and/or Qbert?  That sorta thing.

Maybe I'm not making sense...not the first time.

All -

Okay...stupid question but is there a matrix guide to what monitor can fit in which arcades?

For Example,

I've got a Galaxian or Galaga....what monitors are compatible with this machine?

Or does each machine has only one specific monitor that can be used with it?

I know...flame retardant suit on.  Fire when ready!

Ian -

Is the DMD controller chip located on the DMD board?  What does it look like?  Can it be replaced?

Thanks,
MK

I didn't know Google sold Sketchup to Trimble.  Bummer....last time I used it was when Google owned it.

Thought Google only bought things...never sold anything!!!

I messing with it at work today...its improved quite a bit since I last used it.

Thanks -

Does sketchup allow you to walk through your design?  Kinda like a doom-effect style?

That would be cool.

Ian - The basement wall height is the typical 8-foot height...actual 7'10".

Thanks,
MK

well if you have any more games you want to add to that feel free to post them here. I only took what was on your VAPS.

I need to go back and fix the dimensions.

I think that list of games is about all of them that would still keep my marriage intact. Roll Eyes

Looks good...I like the 2nd design the best.

Thinking about ditching the MPR/Bedroom and opening that wall up.

Yes, mine have the cage in the front and sides.  We thought about where to place the skeeballs for a long time...it's tuff...they take up a lot of room.

We were thinking about placing them on the one wall that is common with the bedroom and along the outside wall.  Probably didn't explain it all that well.  I'll post a pic.
