1  General Category / Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello on: December 15, 2015, 07:24:50 am
Hey Tim, similar situation in Delaware for the most part. I DO have a barcade that I go to every Tuesday night. I try to talk as much arcade as I can while I am there. It holds me over now until the next event.
2  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Re: Asteroids Deluxe, Reset After a Couple hours on: December 15, 2015, 07:21:57 am
Thanks for the insight. All day yesterday it ran without a hitch. I just woke up now and flipped it on, and all the high scores are there is well. I may flip it around this weekend and check the voltage and all, but I most likely will leave well enough alone if it continues to act normal now. Thanks!
3  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Asteroids Deluxe, Reset After a Couple hours on: December 14, 2015, 08:44:29 am
Just got an Asteroids Deluxe. I really love the game, but there are a few minor things that appear to be happening with the game that I was curious about. It seems that after having the game on for a couple of hours it will reset sometimes. Reading on the internet it seems that it could have something to do with the edge connector. Also occasionally it seems to forget one high score. These are not huge issues since gameplay is completely fine, and my games don't last long enough to have it reset on me. Just curious as to why it may be doing this so I can get around to fixing it at some point if I have to.
4  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / Finally own a game! Asteroids DeLuxe on: December 13, 2015, 08:14:07 pm
After spending a lot of time envying everyone else. It was finally time to get my own. I got myself an Asteroids DeLuxe and it is now, (after playing getting it downstairs) safely in the basement. Looking forward to getting more games. Looks like my arcade will be in the garage. Its extremely difficult to get the game into the hall once its down the stairs. Here's some pictures!

7  Tech and Marketplace / For Sale / Wanted / HELP! Looking for first cabinet for home. on: December 09, 2015, 03:45:15 pm
Hey All!

Looking for my first game. I live in Delaware, so anything within 1-200 miles would be okay. Having trouble with craigslist. I am SUPPOSED to get a pac-man on Sunday, but the guy seems to be flaking out. Figured I would come here for help. I already have another post looking for Warlords. I'm basically looking for anything Atari, (centipede, missile command, asteroids deluxe) Also would not mind a pac man. I'm hoping to get some games I am familiar with first like a classic and then maybe a Street Fighter 2. Then I want to start restoring. Baby Steps I guess... Let me know if you can help!

Thanks!

Really saw how much fun it was at Grinkers this past October. I think it would be great to have one in the basement for when friends come over. Looking for something within 200 miles unless it was shipped I guess. Will post on KLOV as well.

Thanks! Was just able to set up a for a dedicated pac-man for $425. It has a ms. pac marquee. I'll post pictures below. I asked him to skype it to me since it is a bit of a drive and he told me it is at a friends house. The friend has been holding it for him. I'm just curious how long he's been holding it there and hoping it's been powered up every now and then. I'm waiting on that before I make the drive out. Should I be worried that I can't see it on a skype/facetime?

Hey There!

Been looking into buying my first cabinet for a little while now. I have come down to a few games, but I am still trying to figure out when something is a good price or not. Here is a DK cab I was looking at http://norfolk.craigslist.org/vgm/5335589596.html is this priced well? Or could I offer $500. Just curious. I was also looking at a centipede earlier this month that was $800 and I was told that was high, and I thought it was as well. Any help would be great. Thanks!

12  Other Stuff / Video Game Console and Retro Computers Discussion / Just bought and Atari 800 XL on: November 02, 2015, 12:48:07 pm
Hey guys , just got a nice lot on eBay. Got an Atari 800XL computer with joystick a few game carts and a 1050 floppy drive with all the wires and connectors. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272034071671?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

A few things..

1. Anybody have any old programs on floppy they want to sell?

2. Anybody still playing around with these and know how to go about copying games from a modern PC to a 5.25.

3. Any thoughts about the machine

Just figured it would be cool to talk about. Currently rewatching John's videos on the topic right now.

Being only in my mid 20's. I only got to experience most of this on Boomerang. But this was before boomerang was a full blown network, when they would only play the shows late night on Cartoon Network. I do feel though that I am one of the last generations, that will remember seeing any incarnation of this on tv  Undecided Undecided

Welcome! I have yet to become a "collector" yet either. I do have a pretty decent retro game collection though from when I was a kid until now. In about a week, I am getting  a DK Jr. shell and I am hoping to restore it on my own.
