If I am using a qbert cabinet with the original WG K4900 monitor for my jrok mylstar board, do I need to use the 2 pin header for the sync or does it use composite sync?
2  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Jrok mylstar roms on: November 07, 2017, 10:24:16 am
I am putting the jrok mylstar board in my qbert cabinet and am not sure what roms to download.  Are they just the mame roms or something totally different?

Does a K4900 monitor use composite sync?
4  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Pac-man power cord on: September 03, 2016, 09:51:44 pm
Does anyone know if pacman and ms pacman use the same power cord? My pac cabaret has a busted up cord and I only see ms pac cords for sale on Bob Roberts website.
5  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Re: Adding ATX PS to pacman on: December 07, 2015, 12:19:57 pm
I am converting my pacman to a 60-1 but am trying to do as little damage as possible so that I can change it back to dedicated in a few minutes when I get more games. The jamma to pacman adapter that I am going to use has a connector for an act ps built in.

I have a cabaret and the marquee light seems to run on 12v after the transformer.  Any other ideas of where to tap in for AC? Is the brown wire hot?  Thanks.

I want to add a ATX power supply to my pacman cabaret and am not totally sure we're to tap in to get the AC.  Can I snip the plug off of the ps cord and solder the wires to the input of the filter?  Is the brown wire going into the filter the hot, blue the neutral and the green-yellow ground?  Any help would be great!
7  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Re: Qbert+5v is low on: October 21, 2015, 08:21:49 am
I ended up cleaning the edge conector and was able to get it up to 4.9v. I will have to look deeper into the sound issue.  Thanks

I just rebuilt the power supply on my qbert and have low +5v.  Even after cranking the potentiometer, I can't get more than 4.65v at the board.  As a result I am having sound issues. What can I do to kick the voltage up to closer to 5?
9  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / 4900 brightness on: October 15, 2015, 08:24:50 am
How do I adjust the brightness on the WG 4900 in my Qbert?
10  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Qbert power supply on: September 27, 2015, 06:59:37 pm
I rebuilt my qbert power supply and was checking for shorts using my dmm on continuity and was getting a quick beep when I checked across C21. I believe that the one side should be 30v and the other ground.  I checked it several times and I got the.same result half of the time. The beep only lasted a second or two and then stopped. It looked like the reistance was increasing the longer i held the probes. Is this normal? Do I have a bad part? Any suggestions on what to look at?
11  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Pacman cabaret height? on: September 23, 2015, 01:28:33 pm
I am picking up a pacman cabaret this weekend and want to know if I will be able to fit it in my hatchback. Does anyone know how tall this cabinet is? Other dimensions would also be great.  Thanks
12  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / qbert battery replacement on: March 06, 2015, 10:21:43 pm
I still have my original battery on my qbert board and have read that this should be removed to prevent acid leakage.  Do I just desolder the battery and that's it? Can the battery be replaced? If so with what kind of battery?  Any advice would help a lot.

Just wanted to give an update.  I reflowed the solder on the filter board header pins and that fixed this issue.  It also fixed my knocker, sound (it was jumping between no sound, low sound, and blasting), and the menu select button.   Thanks for the troubleshooting ideas.

When I have the button pushed down I have continuity all the way from ground at the power supply through the button switch and to the pcb. The switch and wiring seem to be okay. Have you got any other ideas that I can try?

Thanks. I will check the continuity when I get home tonight. The coin switch is working. It is showing credits on the screen but I can not start a game. Does the coin switch working eliminate ic issue?
