but as kids, my neighbor had an apple ii, I had a c64, one kid had a 2600. I never got consoles. I mean, games on my Amiga blew away any shit on a NES. Amiga 500 came out when NES came out in Australia (both iirc 1987?) The Amiga blew it away. I'm skipping the XBOX one, 360 spent more time being repaired than being played. Kids want a Wii-U, I'm looking at deals. Spectrum 48/Commodore 64 for best childhood memories, game swaps, copies and fun. I loved that old boy but it broke down eventually. Luckily my parents kept it and I stumbled across it recently. Got it fixed up and looking good all thanks to a guy stationed in my town. I have to recommend him, he doesn't only refurbish but also sells a lot of what he fixes up. I get a noisy video signal when I adapt it for AV. My best solution is to use an old TV that has the TV antenna screws with the original video adaptor the came with the Atari. If anyone has a solution to this I'm sure there are a bunch of people that would love to get in on it. Title: Re: Consoles Post by: lesoleil70 on June 30, 2014, 04:35:47 pm Simplest way to do this is to but a stand alone unit called a modulator (if you can find one that goes from RF to Scart, normally thay are the other way, but they do exist.
But if you have a VCR hanging about, use that. Tune in the 2600 to a channel on the VCR, then RGB or SCART back out to the TV. Bought a second hand Sega Master system 2 with my own money the same year. Still have the Master system, and it works, played it yesterday.

I remember seeing it at a friends house in the 90's, but didn't realize how cool it was back then. The shmups on the system such as Blazing Lazers and Super Star Soldier are fantastic. Also, I have been playing Cratermaze, trying to get a 1,000,000 point score.
On another note, has anyone had any experience with the Analogue CMVS? Its a really cool consolized MVS Neo Geo. |
