Could you point me to a link of a picture or the contents of the kit?  Since I have never seen one, I am guessing they are rare and costly.  Would rewiring a system not be an easier solution?  Do the power supplies match if I found a PC10 wiring harness?

Hi,
I picked up a second red tent that is in poor condition.  It runs but needs recapping, sanding and light painting.  I was thinking about fixing it up and would like to know if a PC10 PCB would work in this unit.  Would a new wiring harness be required or would the PCB play without many changes?

I ended up getting an ep-1140 microsystems.  I don't know how to take a code off an old chip and match it to the new file yet.  Do you know how that is done?  So far it has worked fine.

What are the proper file ext. for the Nintendo Vs. files?  It would also be nice if someone would speak up where these files are hidden on the internet, but I am guessing that will not happen.  Knowing the file extension would be helpful.

Have you tried swapping the chips from one side to the other?

You might add the paint colors for the red tents if you know them.  I would like to know if there is a matching black and hammered red.

I 2nd that.  Even though I most likely will not burn chips, it would be interesting to learn the process.

I forgot to add other than using burned chips I am using the 001 chip off a Hogan's Alley.

What are the proper colors?  I have never played this version one this system and would like to know if mine are correct or not.  Can someone post a picture?

Also the high score screen is jumbled and the points during game play.  What might cause this?  I am using copied chips from a KLOV member.

I would also like to know if there is a free play DIP setting.

200 does not sound bad if the off color screen is something simple.  Did you end up getting it?

Hey,
I got the games to come up!  I got a known working pcb and they come up fine now.  I wish I knew what was wrong with the pcb so I could fix it.

Thanks for all the replies and moral support.

What should a monitor look like if a machine is turned on and no game is in the vs. Nintendo board?

What should a monitor look look like if a machine is turned on without a pcb hooked up?

I have been messing around with it a bit more and found that the monitor will turn black even if no game is in the pcb.  If I disconnect the bottom pcb connector it will light up grey, or if I disconnect the small connector to the inverter board it will light up grey.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the answer about the caps.  I have all the cables plugged in almost certainly.  I don't see any loose ones and I am getting hum through the speaker.

Now can you tell me if I have the game on the correct side of the board?  It came that way to me.  I think the instructions say it is fine, but looking at the video's John has put he always points to the other side of the board when he talks about which side a single game goes in.

Also would it be safe to put another game in the slots if I am able to get the daughter board out?

And it should be Castlevania.

Again, thank you for the reply.

"Now, the gray screen. You said that you got no game sound? Is the audio cable plugged in? Volume turned up? speaker plugged into audio board on CRT? The gray(or any solid color) screen usually indicates that there are no game ROMs installed on the motherboard or something is wrong with either the ROMs themselves or the CPU. Which game is installed on the board anyway? (would just like to know) Is the CPU installed in the right place? Is the PPU installed in the right place?"
