You could always use a 60 in 1 if you are in a pinch.  They go for about $50 shipped and can plug directly into a VGA monitor (D-sub connector).

Also, if you're going to use Steam, Xbox pad controllers are what most of the games lean towards.  Even If you use a keyboard encoder or gamepad hacks and X360ce program to simulate the controls, it still will not work with certain games.  Namely "Injustice".  You actually need to hack genuine Xbox controllers for it to work.  Kinda sux...

I like Ms. Pacman due to the variety.  Also it's cool that the fruit moves around and you have to chase it.  However, I've been playing Pacman plus lately and love the variety on that too.  You guys should check it out.

I hear there's another one coming in March.  Same place.  It would be cool seeing everyone there!

Great inspiring story.  As for the Xbox comments.  I've had experience with both softmods and hardware mods to my xbox with Xecuter chips, etc.  They each have their strengths and weaknesses.  By I've probably enjoyed the softmod the most since it was so easy to do (Splinter Cell save game exploit).  It limits your hard drive space, but I've only loaded the games that I really like to keep the menu choices more customized and smaller.

No prob.  The only reason I asked is because people have been trying to get trackballs (or mice keyboard combos) to work with the Xbox for ages and there's usually issues with it.  Also, by not connecting the yellow wire on the USB do the rest of the controls work on the Tankstick?  If so then what's the yellow one for?

Any input on the which mod you used for your Xbox?

Are any available in Digital iBooks versions (or Nook or Kindle, etc)?

Also, forgot to mention.  Do you have any footage of any trackball games working with the tankstick mod you posted earlier?

Nice job.  This is next on my list.  I have 2 modded Xboxes from way back when (both have MAME).  My first has a mod chip and a 200GB HDD.  The second is soft modded with the original smaller hard drive.  Which mod did you use for yours?  If you used the soft mod method, did everything fit?

Again, nice!

Has anyone tried it to see if it works?  I'd like to see it in action on a video somewhere on Youtube.,

You're in luck.  I made the switch late last year to Hyperspin and I've learned a ton!  Using Hyperspin is pretty neat but once you dabble with the new Hyperlaunch 3 the possibilities are endless!  I'm really pleased with the progress I've made on my machine.  Let me know if you need any help with it.

@lesoleil70  Thanks.  Worked hard on the Green machine.

@ John  Thanks!  I'm sorry I missed you at the auction.  Would have been cool to meet you.  I hear there's another one in March.  Are you planning on going?  If so let me know.  I have a group of guys that are going too.

Great link.  Interesting.  The thing I like about Crafty Mech's mini SLG is that it has an amazingly small footprint.  Great for Bartop builds.  Especially if you're using any kind of all in one Jamma board for tight spaces.

You need this:  Crafty Mech's mini SLG
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,129344.0.html

It's a tiny butt connector that goes in between your VGA port and the monitor.

And is not expensive!  I think he has a sale right now:  $21 + FREE SHIPPING.  :-)

I used a wire stripper bit on a drill to get mine down to bare metal.  Then I just went with Rustoleum "hammered" spray paint, which doesn't require any primer.  It's lasted for years, no cracking or peeling.

Here's a video of it (3:37 into the video)
