Hey folks, I just wanted to pop in and post some pictures of my Mame cabinet build. It's in the very early stages yet, but I think it's looking pretty rad. I went with the Ms. Pac / Galaga cab style, but I modified the dimensions to be 27" wide to have 2-players a little more comfortably.

I'll be painting it black with some light blue t-molding and custom artwork.

My initial dream was to do an MK3 style cab, but that will be too large.

That is a little big, but I love MK3 artwork and the marquee is pretty bad ass.

Exactly! I actually wanted to just gut out an MK3 cab and build my mame around that, but the only one in the region for sale is about $550. A bit too much for starting in the hobby.

Dont rush things or cut corners. Take your time and have fun with it. Patience is a virtue.

Thank you. I'm definitely excited about it.

Hey, I'm Jared from bone-chilling ND. I'm new to the arcade scene but I'm extremely interested in all of it. I'm building a MAME cabinet very soon, so we'll see how that goes.

Howdy, all.

I'm building my first MAME cabinet. I've never delved into the arcade world so I am in dire need of advice from those more knowledgeable than I am. I'm planning on running MALA and hopefully HyperPin for some pinball goodness. I'm using an old CRT TV for the monitor to get that old school look and feel. It'll only be a 2-player cabinet with 6 buttons and a joystick per player. I have all of the parts already, I'm just waiting to start the actual building.

My question to all of you is this. Which arcade cabinet should I model my MAME cabinet off of? I was thinking of going classic Pac-Man style. My initial dream was to do an MK3 style cab, but that will be too large.

I'm open to all kinds of ideas, thoughts, suggestions and advice.

I'd appreciate any help I can get.
