My question is was this ever used like this originally or is it a hack job?

Well I don't have one. I have a hot shot basketball that used to be a pacman. Been thinking about going to galaga instead of pacman.  I have a pacman, 2 ms pacman and a ms pacman cabaret.

Thats the kind of guys who make it hard to get good deals.  I have a buddy who I got , Jr. and Popeye off of for some work I did and after he gave them to me found a price on the internet for "restored" retail and thinks he gave me $3600.00 in games.  They all need work.  Repaint, Joystick Rebuild, monitor and sound board caps and new tmolding and side art.

Yeah I may restore the cabinet and sell it without a board

Mortal Kombat 1 has the front of the cabinet that sticks out and that you can slide the PCB out of the front.  Mortal Kombat 2, 3 and 4 are all flat fronts.  If you have an MK1 cabinet I would restore it to MK1 art and just put whatever PCB you want in it. Below is a link to a custom MK1 overlay that lets you add the Run button for 3 and 4.  If you can get MK1, MK2, MK3, UMK3 and MK4 boards you can put a 6 in 1 switcher and have them all.

just something to think about.
