I would always assume the worst, even if it appears to be playing blind. I don't know about prices in your area for a Ms. Pac, but I wouldn't take a penny more than $200 based on your description.

Most isolation transformers are not exactly a 1:1 ratio, so hook up one side to your household voltage (120v ish) and measure the other side. If the voltage is higher, flip the isolation transformer around and check it again. I have a few transformers and generally with 120v in I get 110v out, that is close enough to 100v to make the monitor function properly.

It's possible the power supply died.  Check voltages.

My favorite troubleshooting saying is "think ASAP," Always Start At Power.

You have 120v AC coming into your cabinet. From there, it will split and go to your monitor and the power supply. At the power supply, you'll have 120v AC and probably 12v DC and +5v DC and -5v DC (hopefully it is marked somewhere).

Do you have any game audio coming from your speaker (aka, game playing "blind")? If that is the case, your power supply is probably fine and you should move your troubleshooting to the monitor.

When I hear about a power supply starting to fluctuate in voltage, the first thing I tend to think of is a capacitor problem. Do you have an ESR meter to check the input caps?

According to this (http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MAME/Special_Keys), you can use F12 to do a screen capture. The reason why you get all black with the PrtScn button is probably because MAME is using video acceleration... If you disabled DirectDraw (http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MAME/Configure), PrtScn should work properly.

I own a 100% original Ms. Pac-Man upright, a Dance Dance Revolution 8th Mix (completely disassembled and under repair), and a Tournament Arkanoid PCB looking for cabinet. Most recently, I picked up a Taito F3 motherboard with Puzzle Bobble 4 in excellent condition and I have an old computer kiosk with a LCD monitor that I'm putting this into in the next couple of weeks.

Sometimes I really have to cringe when watching the videos, but at the end of the day Jon is providing an excellent service to the community! Keep up the great work!
