Hey guys!

I need to replace the 120mm fan in the back of both my Sega games (Outrun and HangOn).

I found some 120mm computer fans on amazon.com for $8.76 (http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-SickleFlow-120-Radiators/dp/B0026ZPFDE/ref=pd_cp_e_3)

On the machine I have just the two wires (12vdc), these have three wires (Red/Black/Yellow).  Is the yellow just another ground?  Can I twist black/yellow together?  These are 12vdc fans.

Thanks...just an electrical newbie here ;)

the yellow is just a sense wire so that a computer can see it's status (like it's rpm) and allow you to monitor it in software and alert you if it fails
do not twist it to either power or ground bad things may happen to the fan. simply do not connect yellow at all,  the fan will still work with it disconnected

Double check that the fan is infact a 12V fan and not a 120VAC fan

+1 on double/triple checking voltage, can look at schematics, or use a multi-meter.

My Super Hang On cabinet uses a 120v AC fan as an example.
