Ok...I've calmed down. New IC601 voltage regulator coming and a new transistor for Q901. Both coming from Twisty Wrist Arcade.

Seriously....what the falfieaifeljfalejfael!  New B+ pot, New B+ filter, New flyback, new HOT, new caps and I am STILL getting 130+V on the B+ and it won't adjust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
124  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Re: Bondo on: August 20, 2014, 09:56:22 pm
I personally haven't used Bondo with wood, but have used it on cars. It can be found at auto parts stores in the auto body section and used to also be found at Wal-Mart in the automotive section. I'm not sure if that's the case.

You are looking for typical body filler. They make lighter stuff that is used in skim coating cars for super smooth surfaces.

Typically it is pretty simple to do. Just mix the stuff up in the ratio that it calls for on the package and then you have a few minutes to work with it before it hardens. Do your best to scrape off excess while it is soft to save yourself sanding time. If you have small holes they also make something else (I forgot what it's called) that is basically a pre-mixed tube for quick light duty jobs that you can spread on. Don't forget to get some spreaders too.  If this is your first time using Bondo be prepared to sand. And then when you think it's good, sand some more.

Apparently he is a monitor wizard!

So I have learned how to test a pot and I think I have determined that the pot is bad and basically completely open with no resistance. Time to get a replacement and cross our fingers.

Anything else to replace if I am shotgunning this board?

Adjusted the pot and it still hovers around 130v.... voltage regulator? Q901?   This is quite the learning experience.

B+ is putting out about 128v to 130v. I am assuming that should be adjusted down. That needs to be done while on?

I have been following this flow chart...which I don't have an option for after both fuses are good...

And here is the chassis:

I've done the cap kit, flyback, and HOT....what's left? some other caps that don't get done in the cap kit? Other pieces that I'm not sure what they are called?
131  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Sanyo EZ 20 13" in DK Cocktail on: August 16, 2014, 10:29:00 pm
Ok...So I m a beginner...I'll admit it. I am at a total loss right now. I bought a DK cocktail non-working for cheap and I have managed to determine it plays blind. I have recapped the audio board which has drastically improved the sound and in the process I have put in a new flyback, HOT, and recapped the chassis for this Sanyo EZ 20 13" monitor, but I still get no picture. I have no idea where I should go to check now. I have no blown fuses at the moment and no neck glow.  What's next?Huh?   Huh?

Wow. Neat piece...I've never seen a Sega one of those.

I was email a guy about a Pole Position myself that sounded like it was in good shape and had a Ram 7 and 8 error. Being as I have a Ms. Pacman project going and a cocktail table going I thought I should probably stay away from this one until at least one of the 2 are done. Not to mention I have Final Lap already so there is limited space now for racing games. Looks like it's in good shape! Good luck too!

I'd love a red tent! Especially being a Nintendo fanboy. The Ms. Pac is my wife's contribution to the basement arcade!

I am not an expert. But it looks like it was a competitor to Pacman.http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8374.

That cab though....was it a Pacman originally?  You could always convert it over if you wanted to
