1  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Hyper Sports on: August 31, 2020, 06:36:28 pm
Lost my PCB a few years ago and finally found in the shed. So when I try it out it's messed up. Think I have sound sorta working but graphics are not correct. It's like the game plays fine in the background.  Not sure what to try first.  Thought about dumping the ROMs and checking them for issues. Ordered some chips to try to make the hyper sports test ROM. But not sure when that ships.

Here's a little video of problem.

Looking for ideas and maybe the area of the sound sound section.

This video you can hear most sound fine this is how most of the time it sounds.

But this is how it's starting to get more and more frequently I'm afraid.

I have rebuilt the AR boards a few months back too. I'm looking at removing them and the power brick and go new stuff.

Waiting for my order from Ian so I can run it on the test bench and start working on it.

I'm form the cold Minnesota . Have been collecting games off and on for a few years. Now I'm back in and working on keeping my collection running and still working on a few bugs.

My other hobby is robots. Loved the robots form circus pizza or mostly know as Showbiz pizza. I have them setup in my house.

Here's an old video of my setup

This will be today's project Smiley.

If I'm testing correctly looks like Q401 and Q402 transistors are working properly.

Finally feeling more comfortable in putting more money in to this game. Update the Ram so no more issue of leaking battery.

My game is odd tried to "bulletproof" the PCB but as I have found out with the extra ground wires to the test points it locks up, won't boot, or crashes. So just the the 5 volts added and runs better still hear the crash as a reboot but thankful it's back working.

Looks like it's vertical collapse. Ordered a few parts to see if I can fix it.

That sounds like mine. Think mine are original. Love to replace them with an 8 way but on a cocktail space is limited.

Driving me crazy my old monitor would do this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHvm0hFUk5E

I was given a nice 27" but it has VGA plug for video input. So I ordered a "Arcade game RGB/CGA/EGA/YUV to VGA HD video converter board 1 VGA output". Just tried to set it up and have issues. Monitor says
OUT OF RANG
HF:30-40Khz
VF:47-160hz

48.3Khz 60Hz

Would I just need another product or just wire right to the pins on the monitor to the game PCB?

I'm almost to the point of trying to find a cap kit for the old one but haven't found the right kit or I'm lost as to what one.

http://www.cleco68.com.tw/hoya/front...828&Category=0

It's the M825H1.

The new monitor is a Vision Pro model # KT-2938.

Any help would be awesome.
