My issue , and a lot of other people on the net have the same problem but nobody
seemed to come up with a direct answere.

MORTAL KOMBAT 2 SOUNDBOARD NOT WORKING...

now I do have one that does not work, and I know john has that Guru friend and
im not pulling any stops so lets find out why these bad boys suddenly quit.

today im going to recap the entire board and buy a new ribbon.

My power supply does have -5v hooked up .

but I ran around the entire web and everybody that has the same issue has not come up with an answere.
not even KLOV.
the board is clean and undamaged, it does have some eproms and a processor on it but those look undamaged as well.
and yes, I do have the power cable.

what I meant to say is I read this a week ago.
but we are all smarter so ...
I only wish I had a spare board to use the parts to trouble shoot these.
reason being I have more than one MK set coming to me soon.

In case you haven't noticed... we are the elite forum sight Les... never forget that. Plus I already had the manual but I cant read ( I just didn't wanna)
Ladies and Gentlemen I figured it out....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV2LCYlx10E

Changed all the caps, changed the crystal, bought a new ribbon, checked all my solder connections, reseated every rom (one actually had a pin not in)
This thing im told is real picky about voltages.. any one of those things could have caused just enough drop to not make it work.
and here is where you might check first .. the DAC overheats... you have to take the sink off.. reflow the solder, re paste it. put the sink back on.

no the whole board is not the amps. I am talking about the audio amps since those often go bad. but you got it working so it doesnt matter.

ok but what amps?
I think the data goes back to the mainboard and out to the speakers I don't think the amp is on that board.
I dunno I think DCS started with MK2 and forward on the midway boards.
