Title: Wico Joystick balls
Post by: jm116 on October 13, 2016, 02:42:31 am
Hey guys, I have a few Wico joysticks that I'm restoring. The problem is is that the joystick balls are really dirty and cruddy looking (I've tried cleaning with multiple products.) My question is: Has anyone painted the joystick balls before? and if so, what type of paint/method did you use? I want something that'll look somewhat original and wont chip or rub off with normal use. Is this too much to ask for? lol. Anyways, thanks for reading. Any help would be appreciated :)

Can you provide some pictures so we can see what condition they are in.

Thanks

Chuck the stems in a drill motor, use a little masking tape so not to scar the metal.
Use scotch Brite or sanding sponge on the ball to clean and smooth then follow up with polishing compound.
Should look like new when done. Can do same for shaft.
