I agree, regardless of location ( basement, garage, spare room ) its your arcade... where the games are the stars
20  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / Re: Bondo vs Durhams rock hard on: September 13, 2014, 12:13:28 am
being into the automotive restoration biz for my profession, I am surprised to see allot of general " bondo " brand body filler used on these cabinets, while bondo is good and works, there is so much better products out on the market, stuff that is lighter in weight ( your adding weight on some of these major repairs to the cab ) easier to sand, cheaper solutions too...

the reason I think arcade people like using bondo is for the grip factor... it adheres to just about any surface, and these cabs that need the repair, sometimes you’re on top of vinyl, wood and a type of laminate

like for final work and filling the small imperfections, you can use stuff like a " Spot Putty " or " Evercoat Ever-Glaze " in a tube, for that finish work where your going to make a cab perfect silky smooth filling a very low bump or divot you might have missed... nothing to mix...

and remember, what you put on.. and how much... your most likely going to sand most of it off, for the most part, so if you take a little more time on the application of the product, your going to save that much more time with the sanding and mess it makes

i’ve never used the " durhams rock hard " before, but it looks like it would do the trick, it’s just a water based product and the set time is much longer then bondo

bad ass lets see that gasser project, I taught myself to drive in my friends '55 chevy 210 ( it had a 327 / rock crusher 4 speed on the floor with buckets an a 10 bolt  )

thinking of starting a theme cocktail project for the pad before football season, yet haven't settled on a cab style, so far my requirements are 8 way controls and a single button on each user cp... for the true classic games...

yea, locally we have a good supply, but the description / condition is like getting sold to by a used car salesman from hell

how are you going to comfortably play paperboy on a cocktail with a crammed up wannabe street fighter setup... like this guy is showing ( http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/vgm/4566380197.html )

nice, I have not had that one, Sunday I got together with some friends ( our 4th of July push to get ready for football season ) and it was another round of IPA sampling... out of the couple of beers

I liked this Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, it was very tasty...

this would fall under, exception to the rule, great for them! glad to see some hardcore arcade sticking it out!  they must be doing allot of things right!

but Classic Arcades can not flourish like the once did, one in every strip mall, on every street corner...

hell you don't see machines in the liquor stores any longer...

29  Other Stuff / Off Topic / Re: Favorite Beer currently on: July 09, 2014, 02:02:38 pm
for the 4th of July I was able to score 2 pints for myself of the unobtainable Heady Topper... ( scores 100% on BeerAdvocate )

its super hard to get... without the boring details, lets just say it takes a private jet to get this beer to the west coast of Southern California... I highly recommend if you can get your hands on some !
