jsut found this tip-good luck ;)
To improve your screwdriver’s grip on the head, insert a wide rubber band between the screwdriver and the screw head. Place the rubber band flat against the head and insert your screwdriver. Slowly turn the screw driver and attempt to remove the screw

I don't really know what to say about this. SCREWDRIVER?!?!

5  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / possible to find parts to restore? Rampage on: October 25, 2016, 08:25:58 am
so I found this rampage that was being attacked by an X-arcade control panel  Angry

and took it home minus $100,
has PCB, but missing original power supply, isolation transformer sound board and amp and wires...and controlpanel Cry

Love the game and artwork Smiley, and would like to get it running for my own use, is it possible to find parts?  I was thinkng probably best to test PCB see ft it works, I have 19" monitor and transformer/ switching power supply but no power harness for this board other than the video one that came with it.
any thoughts where to start or is this just too far gone?

7  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / artwork and stuff for my popeye standup on: October 20, 2016, 06:11:02 pm
hey folks-
just got a working standup popeye (love), and want to refurbish the game a bit and could use advice on where to get some of this stuff (dont wanna pay for crappy side art, etc)

Things I am thinking of doing (am I missing something)
-new side art (currently only some on one side and ripped a bit)
-control panel overlay with plexi (cigarette burns)
-cap kit for monitor (currently works fine and looks nice,  but sometimes seems to have a wave)
-rebuild the joystick (its a little sloppy)
-maybe new front door lock
-maybe high score save kit (not a priority)

any help is appreciated  Smiley

9  Tech and Marketplace / For Sale / Wanted / WTB Qbert joystick or suitable replacement on: October 12, 2016, 08:27:17 pm
Found a solid Qbert cab and going to restore it but the original joysticks seem to be selling for upward of 200, which i think is insane...
are there alternatives or does anyone have a reasonable priced one?
thanks for the advice.
10  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / Re: What to rent to transport arcade cabinets? on: April 27, 2016, 09:09:08 pm
just a heads up - if you rent from Uhaul you get dicounted rates per mile during the week and on a Sunday (like half off the per mile rate).  I rented a 17' truck  for a day and took it to a warehouse back z(maybe 50 miles) for just under $100.

I ended up grabbing the lot of cabs that he had (6 standup arcades, 3 megatouch, a slot machine and some nice beer mugs made out of thick glass and some cool beer pull handles (fellow was into restaurant stuff and got the cabs as a ).  The truck had a ramp but was easy enough for me to load and unload with a dolly and a buddy.
11  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / SNK Touchdown fever cocktail (button and marquee, peeling bezel) on: March 24, 2016, 07:56:10 pm
Just picked up a cocktail SNK Touchdown Fever arcade game Grin and looking for any advice on some things that jumped out to me that I would want to fix/restore.
-it is missing a small button (pass button) unique to this game so I am guessing this will be hard to come by?
-as a cocktail it has should have two marquees (one is missing), the other is in pretty good shape, any ideas on getting a replica of the first made?
-one part of the paper bezel is peeling up a bit (just ~1-2 inches) and I'm looking for advice on fixing it without making it worse.

I just got the game and put it in my garage, so there are likely other issues but so far the stuff is mostly cosmetic-
any advice appreciated  ;)

Hi!
cool to have that chucke cheese job!  I used to work at a small amusement park as a teen but never got to be near the arcades.  Welcome and good luck with your rebuild.  maybe start a thread and share your rebuild here- love to see folks projects!

A very cool idea for a world arcade map!
