You can pick up locks at places like twisted .com or even at a place like Home Depot or Lowes.  It would probably be a good idea to cap the monitor.  I'm no expert on monitors though so someone else will probably chime in.  Ian Kellog on here does a fantastic job with the cap kits he sells plus he has other parts for the monitor.  You can find all the common parts he sells for that monitor here.

I just wanted to share this.  Last week I was looking for connectors that would work for wiring to nintendo power supplies and to the pcbs.  Ian let me know to use 0.100" connectors.  After running with that I found and ordered this style from digikey.

The connectors work nicely, in case anyone else out there is looking for these to make their own cables.

I was speaking to my dad about this.  He owns a cabinet shop and uses laminate daily.  He said you could use automotive spray paint, but you'd have to put primer on first.  But I agree with the others.  Laminate saves a lot of time over painting.

Just want to make sure everyone understands the parts I have.

I was also wondering if anyone knows what a fair price is for the 4 slot pcb is.  I've been looking on ebay and I'm seeing anywhere from about $170 up (including shipping).
