I must be feeling post apocalyptic at the present time because I am really enjoying Super Smash TV and Zombies Ate My Neighbors right now.
Can any fellow SNES fans give me some of their favorite platformer/action games for the SNES?  (I can't do RPG's, too complicated for me.)

Also, John I listened to the latest Video Game Outsiders episode 372 (my first episode!)  and I wholeheartedly agree with you regarding bots in Titanfall.

Prince of Persia is my favorite SNES game of all time and it is one of the few games that I actually finished.  I bought Prince of Persia for $60 at Toys R Us as a new release in 1992.  It seemed like a lot of money to pay for a game, but a relative was picking up the tab.  The game dynamics were superb and really blew me out of the water.  It was very satisfying to learn the button combinations for running, walking, jumping, and hanging.  Of course the running jump was crucial to game play as was timing because a gate that was open would soon be closing.  I kept going down, down, down into the depths of hell, and I didn't know what I was looking for until it finally appeared before me, glistening like all the riches in the world, my sword!  I was hooked and kept playing long into the night, dying over and over again on those retractable spikes.  What I didn't know at the time was that Prince of Persia was designed by the same person who did Karateka which I really loved on the Apple //c back in 1984, and was also ahead of its time in game dynamics.

I went on a spree of beating them all when the snes first came out, id go to blockbuster video and rent a few
and stay up on Saturday nights beating the shit out of them, two that pissed me off the most were pugsley's scavenger hunt and battletoads battlemaniacs.
I graduated to superfamicom carts and it sucked alittle because I don't speak Japanese but it was a good run.
My fav to this day is castlevania 4

I love em all... however.
My favorite SNES cart is a tie between super castlevania 4 and Super Bonk.
This is what it looks like when I go game shopping btw.
but then you gotta clean em all before you put them in your nifty superfamicom.

For me it's a dead tie between donkey Kong country and megaman x....I swear I have no idea how many hours me and my brothers spent playing those games. We didn't just go and get a game every month like how it is now..when our parents bought us a game, we were stuck with it for what seemed an eternity, could be stuck with it until christmas or our next birthday before we got anything else..for good or worse, we either had to truck a long and learn everything there was to know about the game and beat it for everything it had, or give up and be stuck with a golden turd we'd never know the ending to. We learned every secret those two games had to offer..those are honestly some of the fondest memories of my childhood I have, we knew those games like the back of our hands!!!

Sorry kind of went off on a tangent there...I think a link to the past is a very close second next to those two.
