1  Tech and Marketplace / For Sale / Wanted / Ms. Pac Man Price Check on: March 30, 2017, 11:28:44 am
I picked up a project Ms. Pac in an original cabinet for a good price.  Complete overhaul, put in Two Bits pac man/ms. pac man upgrade daughter board, new side art and front art, new control panel overlay, etc. No burn on monitor.  Wondering what this is worth now.  Any thoughts?
2  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Wells Gardner D9200 on: March 27, 2017, 10:16:21 am
Having an issue with my D9200.  It looks like the lower 1/3rd of the screen is out of synch or folding over.  Cap kit?  Flyback?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

I'm located in Central Florida.  Price was $1,850.00.   I'm glad I passed.  Prices on ebay though are crazy......plus the cost of shipping.  I'll keep looking.

Thank you Ian for the advice and private e-mails.  Wanted to let you know that the vertical pot we talked about was correct and my Wells Gardner 22v1001 screen is now filled up with the beautiful sight of Atari X's and O/s playing black and white football.  Game on.

P.S., test mode also now shows Rom A is good.  Weird.  Maybe I'll just reseat the chips.

Thanks for the advice.  I have decided to pass for two reasons.  First price and second the cabinet and back box were "rebuilt" and "replaced".    That, along with all the replaced boards leaves in my mind a generic Black Knight with the only original parts being the playfield, coin door and back glass.  I never really gave that much thought until now but I'd rather have a machine that is more original than less original even if that means I have to fix her up.  Do you guys agree?

I am about to buy a Black Knight with all new boards (rottendog mpu and power driver) and new displays (pinleds).  Seller also says he rebuilt the cabinet and back box and repainted with stencil kit and clear coat and it looks very nice in the pics I have.  Back glass is good too.  Weakest part of the game is the playfield but not that bad.

My question is what is a reasonable price for this game/condition?  Also, since the cabinet and backbox is "rebuilt" that to me means it is not original and does not have a serial number.  Does that detract from the value?  In my mind maybe but maybe not as we replace boards all the time and it is still "original".  So, I am asking for your guy's advice before I pull the trigger.

Ian, could not figure out how to put up a pic here so I emailed it to you.  THanks

Updated info.  I was able to adjust the vertical hold and horizontal hold on the monitor board and the image came back.  The problem now is that the image is squished or elongated and does not fill up the entire screen from side to side.  I am attaching a pic.  It is a little hard to tell from the pic but you can see that the top of the screen is different from the bottom half.  I am attaching a pic in next post.

Also, I now get a message on the test screen that ROM A is bad.  Can you give me any guidance on how I can replace this rom chip?  Thanks.

Follow up:  Monitor is a Wells Gardner 22v1001.  Also, I can hear the game playing but as I said can't see anything but garbage on the screen.  Same in test mode. Thanks

Hello, recently found John's youtube channel and watched most of your videos.  I'm hoping someone on this forum can assist me.  I have an Atari x/o football that I am restoring.  This machine has a b&w raster monitor.  I got a cap kit from Bob Roberts and installed everything and it worked pretty well for about a week.  Last night when I turn on the machine I get scrambled garbage on the screen.  Can anyone give me any guidance on what I might need to check?  Is this a monitor board issue or a pcb board issue?  Thanks for the help.
