That's awesome!

I desperately want a 'Championship Sprint' cabinet - but all I can find locally is a Badlands cabinet
*think Sprint meets MadMax.  Yuck.

I might pick it up and get a Champoinship Sprint PCB and see if I can convert it!

Nice find though!!

Hey!  K7000 Thank you - Now I know!

The screen pot doesn't make any changes to the picture.
I cqt see any neck-glow when it is not working, *I just had it working that one time (before I moved the cab).
Although the board and back of monitor is pretty dusty.

When the cab is powered up, the monitor makes that tell-tale crackling sound because it IS getting power.

Because it worked just before the move and for a time after a move... I agree I have something loose
Can you suggest where the usual suspects may be on this particular monitor?

Uggh!

Yes, I agree $1500-2000 is a little too steep for me at the moment when I have a vacation to plan etc!  a $75 Tetris with issues... I can handle that!
One day though...
In the mean time, if I see World Cup 94 in one of your videos... We are going to have to arrange for a "John's Arcade (Fan) on the Road!!" because I will want to come and play it!

Hey!

Thanks for the reply!
So I got the picture working!  But it raises more questions than it solved.

While waiting for a reply to my post, I decided to check out the cabinet...  I took off the marquee brackets to clean the light (which was working). I realized the humming was coming from the light itself so I pulled out that fuse thing on top of the light and as soon as I did that... the monitors picture came on!  I thought, NAW!!!  So I turned it off and put that fuse back in. turned the cab back on, and No picture.  Pulled the fuse again and Picture is back!

Here are the answers to your questions:
Quote
#1 - Did you adjust the screen knob on the flyback? If you crank it, can you get a picture, anything?
Yes I tried all the pots
Quote
#2 - Is the monitor cable plugged in?
Yes every molex in the cab was checked and the wires were all attached to the molex's
Quote
#3 - Are you sure it's getting power? Do you have neckglow? Check fuses on monitor chassis?
No neck glow that I could see, the monitor only has one glass fuse it is so deep in the board under the neck I am too chicken to pull it...  (but since it is working I assume it is good)
Quote
#4 - Is it going into HV shutdown? Can you check the B+?
I have heard of High Voltage Shut down, but I don't know what a B+ is...

So since pulling that fuse I have had no issues with the monitor, I adjusted the pots to get the picture nice, it is dark on one side so I think I have to buy a degauss-er wand or something?
(that is a guess)

So any idea why a light (fuse) would affect the monitors picture?

Side Note - ALL the girls in the house are suddenly excited about arcades since I bought this one!

So I have this Tetris cabinet, I got it today!  It is my third cabinet.
It is pretty clean, and was working when I picked it up.
I was told it was giving the former owner some issues with "No Picture".

Here is where I am at with it...
Turn on the cabinet and the monitor does that tell tale "I am getting power" crackle sound.
According to the multi-meter the power supply is sending 12V out of the 12V screw and 5 V out of the 5V screw.
The game plays it is set to free play, so I can hit 1UP and start a game and hear it, but the tube is black!
It is not brightness or any of the monitor's knobs.
When this left the former owners house - I saw the screen. It actually looked fantastic.

All of the capacitors look great, not so much as a swell or a leak from any.
I have reseated the Jamma Connector a few times.
I have followed every wire to look for cracks or breaks and have found none.

I have one of those screwdrivers with a discharge clip on it, but frankly monitors scare the heck out of me, would discharging the flyback do anything for producing a picture?
If anyone has any advice for me, I would love to try it.

It was working before it's trip up stairs and across the city (on it's back) and down my stairs - but like I said I was told it was having picture issues.

Thanks to anyone willing to lend some keystrokes of advice on my first post!

Go Jets Go!

So it all started with wanting the same pinball game since the mid 1990's I have never seen it for sale and shelling out $2000 for any OTHER pin wouldn't work for me.
I still haven't got the pinball game (Balley's World Cup '94 if you were wondering).

I eventually found MAME, and thought I should put this in a cabinet - as I started to research the idea, I found out about 60 in 1's and JAMMA and before I knew it I was looking for an old cabinet.
My FIRST machine was SUPPOSED to be me gutting it. It was an obscure game from 1987 called Solar Warrior (Xain'd Sleena - Japan) it was in a Jr cabinet.
I got a good and ended up getting it all going eventually...  My 61 in 1 card sat on my desk waiting...

Then I got a great on an Asteroids Cabinet!  It is in MINT condition Probably spent less than 6 months in an arcade and has been in a private collection ever since!
Turns out  I bought it on Asteroids 35 birthday!  Irony!  Pew Pew Pew!

Today I bought Atari's Tetris in a Dynamo cabinet...  Very clean and the guy practically gave it to me...
All this is Johns Arcades' fault! All I wanted was an empty cabinet so I could throw in a 60 in 1 and an old LCD and voila!
Then I subscribed to his channel... Now I have to think about what to watch - Walking Dead OR Journey Restore #46?? John in Hong Kong or Sons of Anarchy?
At least I have a wife who is supportive of this back breaking collection I started.
Anyway, Hi Everyone!
