Hi,

I've just picked up a pole position 2, there is more chance of me turning the Pope Jewish than me converting this back to pole position right now, there's just so much missing and broken, buy hey I knew what I was getting and the price was right. I bought this for the cabinet and the monitor.

Basically a box of sound boards and a nice cab supplied.  the wiring is all there also.....

So, what I intend to do is purchase a NOS CPO, store all the old parts, and fabricate a new control panel, with an overlay to match the cab and just jamma this bitch up into a 2 player and store the steering wheel / gear inside.

If by some miracle I source parts, maybe one day I'll convert it back, I'm not going to trash a thing so any purists out there do not need to have a heart attack, and John does not need to have a phlegmball coughing fit.

I've gone right off topic....rewind...

I have a Wells Gardner 19k7689 in this thing, no idea if it works.  There's a warning on the cable telling me I need an isolation transformer, and some youtube vids Iv'e seen are basically telling me I need one or else..

Can someone guide me here as to what I can get to do the job, be advised though i'm in the UK.

I've seen this on RS components site, does this look like it will do the job.

All feedback greatly appreciated.  There's some pics on the flickr just incase you missed it.

Yes, Correct!  ;)

Why do I always think it's more complicated than it really is

Now all I need is a USA mains plug, everything I see starts with a sodding USA plug and converts to UK.

No, that's not what an isolation transformer does.

Are you sure there isn't one in there already?!?

Post a photo.

Thanks John - That explained it 100%, I'm glad I waited.

Definitely not an original one in here, no power board at all. There was a big blue thing inside, looks like a capacitor to me, but I'm no techy, says LCR 2700 uf 16 VDC IND 273 BC016 8.4 amps ripple. That's the only piese that looks remotely like the pics I'm seeing online.

I was supplied with a power supply unit, but it'not the right one looking at the pictures online.  I'll post a pic of what I was supplied with though on the flickr.  I'm really struggling to find an isolation transformer in the UK, I wasn't expecting this to be a problem.

It's a but of a Frankencab at the moment, I've got the intention to store the PP2 parts and use this cabinet as a 2 player Jamma for the time being.   But I'm doing it carefully, documenting all the parts and not altering any structure, so a full blown restore is possible.

I'm watching your mates blog on the pole position PCB, I'll probably get one of those when he's done.

I think I'm getting hooked up with an isolation transformer from a guy on the UK Jammaplus forum, he has one taken from an NBA Jam, which sounds ideal, but that may not come off.

Looking at the link I posted in the original thread, does this look ok?

Hey thanks everyone for their input - I'm sorted now, I can get one from Farnell in the UK, it's a step down and isolating transformer that will not raid the piggy bank too much.

Again, everyone who helped, thanks, much appreciated.
