Ok, so I've noticed SMB freezing on my red tent recently a few times, all times in the attract mode screen, maybe once every couple of weeks with it on every day at my Pizza Hut.  The Goonies side is fine.

Does this sometimes happen?  I'm using that special chip for free play attract mode/game saves with battery, could that be it?

Should I suspect the board, or chips, or maybe power supply (haven't checked it yet).

Thanks!

Did you have a problem with the board before you installed the chip?

True restoration is an art form. Like any good artist you have to know what your doing. Painting a single line on a canvas and calling it a masterpiece does not fly in restoring a arcade machine. Do it right

I've never had freezing issues with the high-score save mod. Hmmm....

Could be voltages. I'd check them first.
