Being part of a hobby doesn't mean to go all in and attend every event in person at the expense of something higher on the priority list.

For me family is a priority, so I don't attend the events in person.  I enjoy the hobby by watching youtube videos, forums, podcasts, etc.

I do have project games that I work on one at a time (ie. takes 6-8 months to finish), but I do this late at night when everyone is asleep, sometimes on the weekends if nothing is going on.

Can adjust your level of involvement higher if you get more free time in the future.

Thought about this for mine, but I'll probably just get a replacement bezel and triple thick spray it to keep the heat from causing flaking.  If you find a  led replacement, I'd be interested if it shows up as diffused light, or just a bunch of brighter spots behind the bezel.

Interesting idea, agreed with Ian on Watchdog, curious though, if watchdog disabled if this would work.

I've been debating a bar top with Tetris for my wife, but a pause feature for her would be awesome so she could pause if the phone rang, etc.

What is an arcade game?

Any clarification would be appreciated.

I tend to look at the Exidy price list and adjust according to what shape the game is in, local availability and market demand.    For instance, in some cases, yes you can find it cheaper, but you may have to wait longer (ie. a year or more), or pay more now to get it now.

Also, if you have to redo everything and buy artwork, repaint, etc, that cost needs to be figured in.

I have an Ikari Warriors, are they even compatible?

I figured you would have to change the pcb and maybe the wiring.

Mine is wired jamma standard with an adapter for the Ikari Warriors pcb.   The rotary joystick wiring should be the same, but you would have to change out the bezel, marquee, sideart.

Might just be good to leave it Heavy Barrel and buy an Ikari Warriors pcb.

Wow!  Anything that requires a trailer is getting serious!

I have a 3 car garage, but usually I'm just needing heat enough to take the bite out of the cold.   Might look at some type of heater that will burn kerosene/diesel (and old turkey fryer oil (I seem to collect a bunch of it every year at Thanksgiving (fried turkey))).   Not sure if a kerosene/diesel heater will burn old fryer oil as well.

Thanks for the info.

I have one of these (see link below) for emergency heat for the house (safer for indoor use) and I can use small propane bottles if needed, but looking for something with a lot more btu's for garage work.

What garage heater did John use last winter?

I'm debating something to heat my garage for temporary bouts of insanity where needing to do some arcade repairs is the fix.

I'm happy with my Sony PVM 8042Q (from eBay).  As with anything on eBay, buyer beware.

Here is mine connected to Frogger for troubleshooting

I've not tried it myself, but from what I've seen on forum posts, the K7000 chassis is pretty good for matching with donor crt tubes.

I have a WG K7000 that is doing the same thing, tried rejuv, still dim.    The only thing left for me to try is a new flyback, otherwise I'll assume the tube is worn out.

Are needing eproms re-burned (fixed)?  I know that hobbyroms might be able to help.
