Title: Nintendo Vs. PCB board with very low volume
Post by: killerkobra on March 11, 2013, 09:16:26 pm
Ok, So I just picked up a Nintendo Vs system PCB board to go with Vs. Castlevania or Vs. Dr. Mario. Once everything was together and installed (with either game ) the music/sound effects volume was very low. I could hear it but barely. I understand that the sound is controlled by the monitor so I cranked it and still nothing. I then tried both games with my working PCB board and they both work perfect.

So what could the problem be? Not a good connection or something? I have zero experience so any help woould be great. Thanks

id say the audio pre amp section of your board needs to be recapped, im not sure which section that is but im sure thats your issue.

sounds like it could be bad caps or the sound buffer IC's are on their way out.

find the LM3900 and swap it out.
i think there is two of them on the VS PCB.

Peace
