136  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Nintendo CP Carriage Bolts on: February 01, 2014, 04:14:13 pm
Well, I have a control panel. It, has no carriage bolts (the carriage bolts are used to hold down the cpo to the wood). Does anyone know where I can find these?  Huh?

Yes, indeed these boards are awesome! I need to get a Williams cab and put one in! I've heard that since there is no emulation and it's the real , it plays great! And yes, John is running one in his bubbles cab.

I picked up my first cabinet last week for only £80's so i believe i got a as it came with a neo geo 6 in 1 board with 4 games that he just gave to me as he was selling for someone else.  He didnt know if they worked? Its a jamma cab with Golf greats by konami which is alright but i just wanted a cab that wasnt too far from my house.  I watched the auction episode and i was shocked how cheap things are over in the states, as they are mental prices here and the delivery charges are as well Sad The bloke didnt havent the keys but coin door was open so i could play a bit.  After waiting a week i decided to drill the lock off which worked only to have the bloke txt me to say he was posting the keys i was going to buy new keys anyway.  Ill get some pictures up soon to show my progress but so far this is what ive done.....

1) Changed the marquee blub and cap which worked! Smiley Let there be light!

2) The power cord was in two parts and kept tripping the power off in the garage so got new cord and plug and wired them up, which didnt trip the power! Lucky im an electrician but most people could do this anyway.

Next job is to clean up the cab and start sanding all the metal pieces for painting.

Questions - My monitor just doesnt seem to be giving a perfect picture and its only today i opened the back but any suggestions would be appreciated as there are a load of knobs and im not sure what to turn.  Ill get the model tomorrow and get back..

Also as im new to this i pluged the 6in1 to my jamma and had a grey screen with a few black blocks on it? Keep in mind this has been in someones garage for a while and ive only plugged it in the last few days if that makes a difference?

Also picking up next cab which is a total carnage on monday for a bargin but ive been told it works but has some gfx problems? any suggestions?

Thanks for your time
Nathan

About, the monitor having an iffy picture.. On the back of the monitor there is usually a Red, Green, Blue, and Brightness adjustment. Also, on the flyback there is usually a brightness and focus adjustment. If you can't get the best picture after adjusting it, you might want to consider doing a cap kit on it. To find these, you can usually just type in "MONITOR MODEL NUMBER, BRAND etc." then cap kit on Google and you can prob. manage to find it (Real Cheap). Mr_Rampage is right too, You will need to let the monitor warm up to get its best performance.

I think this one is great!  Cheesy This is more on the story-side. It's about this dude, who starts a arcade in the mall (in the 80s) and tells about his journey, all the way up till he is forced to close it down. A great read, and cheap!

It also has a digital copy version. And, of course a paperback.  ;)

Hello! About a year ago, my dad got me so interested in arcade machines after he bought himself an Original Dedicated Ms. PAC-MAN. I then started the journey to learning about these things. (I learned most from John!) My first machine, was a Nintendo VS. Hogans Alley in a Blue Nintendo Cab. At the same time, my dad had picked up another blue Nintendo Cab with a Junior Bootleg PCB in it (Weird 3 game with DK Jr. sounds) basically all the DK Jr sprites were changed to DK3's. The cab did have a DK3 marquee, Control Panel, and bezel. (all were fake, as was board) Meanwhile, My Hogans Alley, was listed as "Parts or Not Working" on eBay when I bought it. First day I got it, it was running. Heck, all I had to do was plug in the pcb and some other connections. The only thing really wrong with the game was the Sanyo EZ20 in it had jail bars, so I did a cap kit on it that I got from Bob Roberts. Since, my dad was going to convert his Nintendo cab into Original DK, I thought I would just do DK3 in mine. (Considering mine was a blue cab and not orange. Otherwise, it would have been a DK Jr.) I thought it would be cool to have a line-up. So, pretty much that's what I did. I now have a DK3, fully up and running! Ms. PAC-MAN is still going strong. We are still currently working on the DK cab my dad bought. We just got a BK 467 (Monitor Rejuver), and we need to rejuve the Sanyo EZ20 in it, it is missing red, even after a cap kit. We happened to get lucky and pick up a CR-23 monitor adapter along with it! (Adapter for Sanyo). We also, have a Millipede that was bought non-working and fixed it for like $10. "Atari Big Blue Capacitor" was bad Cheesy. By the way John, your videos along with Tighe's and ArcadeImpossible, really got me inspired into this stuff too!  Cheesy I'm actually doing a restore series on the DK right now on YouTube. New video will be up soon. http://goo.gl/vAXZNz Well, I hope you enjoyed my story Cheesy
