UPDATE: I fixed it! Watch a video of it here: http://youtu.be/j_hDS-4wtqM
Now it won't shut up CheesyHello,
I bought a Gyruss arcade game recently. It is pretty worn out (Major Burn-In on monitor, worn out art, etc.) and I'm restoring it. I have a problem though, no sound. I replaced the bottom fuse because it appeared to be blown but nothing changed. It may be the volume being turned down but I don't know where the control for that is. I heard this is a common problem so if you can help me please reply.

I have a Gyruss PCB sitting right next to me as I type this and I see a volume pot on the board.

So.... take a look at your Gyruss PCB and adjust that POT!  Def' start there FIRST.

Where is the POT on the board? I don't want to mess something up by changing the wrong one.
Sorry for my "newbishness"
Also thanks for helping me out.
P.S., did you get that Gyruss machine? It would be cool because this is my first cab and then you get it...
lolweird
One more thing, is there any H.V. on the mainboard I should watch out for? Or is the entire board low voltage (I know how dangerous the monitor is)

I researched this a little and there should be some volume pots inside the coin door and another (pair?) on the main PCB. I haven't gotten my game working yet so I can't speak from experience yet. But, it appears there are two sets of Left and Right volume pots. Two on the PCB and two by the coin door.

And, yes, I did pick one up. But, it's a project. Smiley

I JUST figured that out the hard way. I took it all apart and adjusted the pots on the board, while doing that I saw the coin door pots...
Now it won't shut up.

Yup! Somebody hated classical / 8 bit music...
I just got the high score on it too. 95,000
It's pretty hard to get to that on a hard difficulty setting
(I need a good challenge or I get bored of it) So I set the dipswitch to the 2nd hardest difficulty!

BTW, heres a link to a service manual if you need it for yours
