sounds like the hard drive.  I would recommend the compact flash conversion.  My drive wasn't even bad and I did the conversion.

Hello all,

I'm Brian from Pittsburgh PA.  I'm newer to the classic dedicated scene, but built my Mame/Console cabinet 6 years ago.  I'm having a tough time finding anything reasonably priced in the area, so i thought i'd get involved in the forum community.  John, love the YouTube channel!  Keep up the great work.
