Saw this thread and figured I'd jump in with an issue that is kinda-sorta related--

I picked up a Millipede this weekend and upon plugging it in the first thing I noticed was the TM202G monitor was extremely dim. Pulling off the back to address the issue I discovered the 10k ohm brightness adjustment was missing its center knob thing altogether (so no way to adjust). I've been online trying to locate a suitable replacement for it but nothing really matches up with the part number anywhere. Scoured Bob Roberts site, etc.

Scroll to PDF pages 54-55 for the video amplifier PCB
http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/ARCADE/SMALLFILENAME/tm202g.pdf

What I think it is (1/2 watt? doesn't seem to be mentioned)

Also looking at getting a cap kit to install so any advice for this particular monitor is mucho appreciated.

Tons, there are many threads on KLOV where people find more money in quarters than they paid for the game.

I bought a Clean Sweep claw machine and while wheeling it out I noticed a or two had somehow appeared behind me. When I got it home I pulled out nearly $60 in quarters, most of which were lose in the lower end of the cabinet. Good times, good times.

I have casters on my pins and felt padding on the arcade machine legs to protect the wood flooring below. Anyone ever figure out what the weight distribution of an average arcade machine is? I figure the cabinet is always heavier than the then monitor.

1. Video camera - Sony HDR-PJ710 - I edit the video in iMovie. The intro was done in After Effects. The music is by me.

One thing you might find useful is a circular polarizing filter for your video camera. It will reduce / remove the glare that you're seeing when in the garage (and most other places). You simply screw it into the video camera (I looked up yours -- 37mm) and then it has a secondary lens that rotates. Just twist it until you see the glare go away and thats it. Pretty simple photographer trick. Here's a good one that fits your camera and costs nothing. I'd mail you an extra one if I had it!

Hey guys, give me some ideas on what you'll think a home arcade should have. ie. Lights, carpet, wall color, etc.

What in your opinion should an arcade look like? What must it have to be legit?

I really want to turn my space into more of an arcade rather than the garage that it's in.

I'm always going for Flynn's Arcade, but darker.

very cool! got a lot of fam in MN in warroad, detroit lakes, fargo, lake the woods

Love the data east trio! you dont often see a BTTF or R&B. Might want to get a blind for that window so you dont get a lot of sun fade!

Good call. There's blinds there. This was a photo taken for the apartment leasing company as my unit was nominated for "best two-bedroom floorplan" in Minneapolis. Normally those blinds are closed shut and that particular area doesn't receive any of the light from the upper floor windows.

Hey, I'm Mark. Time Runner is my BBS pseudonym from the early 1980s before I wrote my own BBS program for the TI 99/4A home computer in 1983. I first discovered John's Arcade when I got a my messed up Pole Position II PCB refurbished from Eldorado Games and wasn't sure how to hook up the power. John's video showing you how to bullet proof that particular board got me hooked and I've been watching video archives ever since. My personal arcade collection has had stops and starts over the years. I was originally only collecting pins and my favorite story to tell was when someone on eBay had some bad javascript on his auction page which made it impossible to bid on his pin -- however -- I fixed the scripting error on a local copy of the page and placed a bid. The guy was totally confused about why nobody else wanted to bid on his mint Charlie's Angels Gottlieb. I was all, "Gee, no idea!"

My current collection:
Data East Back to the Future pinball
Data East Jurassic Park pinball
Data East Rocky & Bullwinkle pinball
Williams Alien Poker (in storage at the moment)
Clean Sweep Claw Machine
Pole Position II
Xevious
Galaga

I recently bought a Final Fight that's gonna need some CPO replacing love that I've got a special place for in my apartment.

Here's a photo of "The Arcade Wall" of my current collection:

I'm an application architect for a couple insurance companies and as a hobby (aside from getting bit by the arcade bug) I collect movie cars.
