16  General Category / Comments about John's videos and johnsarcade.com / I vote for a certain game to have it's attract sounds off, John! :P on: December 16, 2014, 05:48:03 pm
HEAR YE HEAR YE

I brought this up for conversation in the shoutbox / chatbox thing a few months ago and I never really did figure out which game it was as I think some people thought I was referring to Track & Field but I don't think it is.

http://youtu.be/XkLottjw7Is?t=4s (4 seconds in / 0:04)

The beeping for the "3, 2, 1, GO" sequence. I thought it was Outrun but that's at the other side of John's Arcade so I'm not sure.

Anyways, I vote for it off. I've heard it in every video for as long as I've been watching and before that (watching older videos), and I think it's time for a switch-up in my opinion. Cheesy I wonder what other games could have a neat affect or change on the ambiance that aren't currently set to on? This one just bugs me in particular, hehe.

Thoughts? I'll obviously still enjoy the videos either way but I thought I'd start some discussion around here.

ALL RISE

1) Have I charged you anything to read this?
2) If you don't like it, I don't give the f#@k
3) I work hard, I deserved this thread.

Amen to our newly-found John's Arcade motto ;)

Makes you wonder if it's some odd-ball switcher based on the label, or something. I wonder if the button was never installed? Tongue Although I guess that makes him slow on "default". Hmph. Odd.

Anyways, welcome to the forums, Timberwolf, man! Smiley

Cheesy

Have a good stay bro.
23  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Re: Star Wars Trilogy upright question. on: November 17, 2014, 12:08:20 pm
Is this the huge sit down rear projection game? or the more rare actual upright?

The projector in those games are quite complicated and really difficult to service. I can't really give you many tips to work on one since I don't have that many hours of experience with them and i frankly hate working on them.

Does the monitor ever turn on if you just leave the game on for a few minutes?
When the game is on, how does it look, washed out?

I think he fixed it (well, figured it out at least Tongue), and it seems to be the upright version.

I am. Smiley I tend to read a lot more than post, though, but I've done a fair share of that, too.

The controls make me cringe, no offense. I guess the cupholders are a pretty neat idea, nice addition on that. First things first, I'd work on the controls definitely. Definitely a Frogger though. Smiley Gonna keep the wood grain?

Nice coin door, and Rush' N Attack is actually a very great game / PCB to own. That marquee job is questionable though, .... Rough cabinet though, wouldn't call it "Nice" but that's eBay for ya.
27  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Re: where is the best place to get side art? on: November 12, 2014, 07:39:16 pm
Unfortunately those games seem to have less demand in general, which unfortunately means less reproduction stuff reproduced for it. =/ Keep hunting, though!
