So I had planned on making a GNG cabaret and have it all ready to go...except for the board.

Picked up a Capcom Jamma adapter for GNG from Arcade shop and found a working board set.  I then pulled the jamma board I had in there out and plugged it in, made sure keys were right, and parts side was parts side. Powered up and nothing... no audio, video is a no go. VGA board for the LCD has no power.

Hmmm...tried another working GNG board and the same adapter, same result. Plug in a jamma board with no adapter and it powers up. Guessing the adapter is grounding out the board? Thoughts/ help please!

That looks cool. Poor Pac. Smiley

Post a photo. We need to double check the pinout and compare it to what you have.

Yeah the cab was toast and I don't ever really do that to classics, but it would have been more expensive to bring it back to PAC than buy one.

That's the same pinout I have.  I'm guessing the adapter from arcade shop is not right. Jamma cab plays jamma no problem.

I think your right, it must be the adapter. Might be worth  mapping the adapter connections and see if something's gone awry. Have you thought of making one?

I made one and it was the same result. Was going at it from the wrong end people. No matter the issue, always start at the beginning.

I started to check the voltages and sure enough the +5 was all over the map fluctuating. My PS was a goner. New PS and the board and vga converter power up = 5 and 12 one he board. Smiley

Now the issue is no signal on the LCD. Although it had been playing when it was playing Jamma Boards. Jamma board tested again and plays. Capcom board is a No Signal. Hmmm

All I want is to play my GNG:/

Thoughts?

It could be the wiring in the adapter. I've had a 3V drop on a 2 foot cable with cheap and nasty wiring.

I'll check the vdc from the 5v to the cable to see if we're getting that 5. Like I said, jamma boards play no problem through that harness. Maybe it's the resolution of the LCD?
