I hope a shot of penicillin comes with that 150 bucks.

Almost. Didn't know how to properly test the ic's so I just replaced them.

So the monitor turned out awesome. I did get some arcing at first on transistor q704. I thought it was arcing through the insulator at first but I realized that it was going from the screw to the collector. I put some electrical tape over the top so that arcing could not occur. Of course I removed it and tested it first and the rest of the circuit. I won't go into great detail about it here but the base and emitter are grounded and so is the heat sink, the tape sounds redneck but it works. There were a lot of components that I had tested and some were bad that don't come in any kit. The voltages all look good and I ran it for a couple hours and played a few rounds. I was nervous about turning it on but it looks great.

Flyback a can be difficult. Make sure you completely removed all the solder from the pins. Even one pin still soldered will hold that thing in. Gently try to wiggle. Use the iron and touch some points to see if one is hanging up. Be careful not to pull a trace. Also- you may have a couple connections still soldered. A lot of people will de-solder the "horseshoe" of the flyback and forget the 2 on the side.

Anyone have experience rebuilding these? I did a pretty complete rebuild on this. This is from a golden tee fore. Game plays blind. No neck glow on the monitor. No b+. So I rebuild the monitor: cap kit, flyback, transistors in the power supply, new ic's. Replaced a couple resistors that were open. Have not tried it yet as I am waiting for a metal oxide resistor from Mouser electronics. Have I missed anything? This is a shotgun obviously but my question is does anyone have experience with the k7500 27"? I see john is picking up a "ninja turtles" and I think it has the same monitor. Or the 7400...? My sons 11th birthday is this Saturday and I was hoping to have it active in the arcade.

I would say make it the most badass Gravitar ever! From my perspective, you are not ruining anything that hasn't already been ruined. If it was already a Gravitar and you were going to convert it to some kind of BS cab, I would poopoo you. You have an opportunity to restore something cool, or just go with your original plan. It all boils down to parts, time, and money. How much do you/will you have of them? Gravitar may be worth more for resale or trade down the road. We all know that collecting starts with one. I said I only wanted one about 40 cabinets ago. (I blame the Johns Arcade channel)

Omg! Make sure you get a shot of penicillin after working on that thing! Seriously, rebuilding and cleaning that thing is a must (therealbobroberts.net) When you check a game, start with fuses, then check voltages, then go over all your connections/connectors including ic's on the board. Those simple checks take care of a lot of problems. Corrosion is self evident and needs to be addressed. Battery, rust, water damage, etc. johns video's will show you the way.

I like that one the best. Would like to try skate or die. Final fantasy looks cool too.

Great price. Sounds like you got a good . The monitor is worth that price.

Good luck finding a decent chart. Seems to be a closely guarded secret.

There is not enough pc-10 discussion on here and that kinda bums me out. There are people who hate on the playchoice but I have to say; I love mine. If you had the NES then I think you can appreciate the playchoice a bit more. I like it because I am out of room for cabinets and I have 26 carts for the machine. I keep the Mario bros library in the lineup and I mix up the rest from time to time. What is everyone's favorite game? How many do you have? I have burger time for mine which was never released but some clever rom adjustments make it possible to play the arcade version on PC-10!

Shot gunning the g07 could have fixed your issue. TherealBobRoberts.net sells a deluxe kit for the g07 which includes the caps, HOT, soldered fuses, fly back, and power transistors. Re -flowing all your pins and your sinc connections is always good practice. I have done a few g07's and just did my centipede the other day. The deluxe kit is the way to go.

Which vs? Upright? Red tent? Does it come with boards (games)? Condition? Is it all original? Monitor in good condition? Working systems have been going for upwards of 1200 bucks, but 700 is an average rate that I have seen. The red tents are a bit more in demand. I think 250 is a good price but 500 may be max if the cab is in mint or excellent condition. If anything is missing ( monitor, etc) then 250 would be too much.
45  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / What to do when you're out of room on: April 30, 2016, 02:00:49 pm
So, my basement is full, my garage is packed. My dining room's corners are gamer friendly. I don't have an inch of space for another machine. Yet, I just picked up a qbert and I don't know where I can put it aside from the middle of my drive way. It's too difficult to play laying in the back of my suv. What has everyone done when they have run out of room? Am I the only one who needs an intervention? I know the first thing one may say is to sell. But I am looking for other experiences and ideas. I can't seem to find an arcade collector addiction hotline.
